The venue will open at 6:30 a.m. each tournament day December 16, 17 & 18, 2023. We recommend that you arrive at least (one) 1 hour before the close of your event registration time.
Armorers will conduct a full equipment check. Early equipment check will be 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Friday, December 15, 2023. Daily equipment check will begin 90 minutes prior to the close of registration for each event every tournament competition day starting at 6:30 a.m.
All fencers must have a USA Fencing membership card or a clearly legible copy to use the Auto Check-In feature of our bar scanner. To become a member of USA Fencing click here.
Fencers will be required to present additional proof of age in the form of: 1) an original or legible copy of a birth certificate; 2) a passport; or 3) a driver's license or state issued ID card, unless the USA Fencing membership card has "Birth Year Is Verified" noted on the membership card. To avoid this extra check-in step fencers should submit a copy of any of the above to USA Fencing to verify the birth year of the athlete permanently before the tournament.
Fencers must check in each day they compete.
Fencers must bring the following list of equipment for equipment control by the armory staff: fencing mask, fencing glove, conductive vest/lame', body cords and head cords. Once your equipment has been inspected and marked with the equipment control stamp and control tape it is valid for the duration of the tournament. Daily re-inspection is not necessary.
Armorers have the full right to decline inspecting unwashed uniforms or equipment that is not clean.
If the inspection mark or control tape is missing a red card penalty for that bout will be issued by the referee and the equipment lacking the equipment control mark/tape will be confiscated by the referee for the duration of the bout. After the bout, the equipment will be returned to the fencer and must be re-inspected by the armory staff for subsequent use in a bout.
Fencing masks with a traditional "tongue" in the back must have a horizontal security strap that is firmly attached to both sides of the mask. Leon Paul masks with Contour-Fit Plus must have the mask strap attached at all times. Masks submitted for equipment control that do not have these safety features in place will be deemed incomplete and will not be inspected.
Weapons will be checked at the strip at the start of each bout by the referee. The fencer must present themselves with a minimum of two (2) working weapons, two (2) working body cords, two (2) working head cords (foil & sabre), a properly stamped mask and a uniform without any, holes, rips or tears.
Information during the tournament regarding check-in, pools, direct elimination and final results will be continuously posted and updated at www.FencingTimeLive.com. Any errors must be immediately reported to the bout committee for review and/or correction.
Each event will start within a few minutes after the announced close of registration.
WITHOUT EXCEPTION AND SUBJECT TO AN IMMEDIATE PENALTY during the pool round only fencers in uniform, referees and tournament staff are allowed inside the marked and designated "sport zone".
WITHOUT EXCEPTION AND SUBJECT TO AN IMMEDIATE PENALTY during the direct elimination only one (1) coach or parent is allowed to assist the fencer during the active DE bout near the end of the strip.
There will be a special awards ceremony for the top-8 fencers of each event.
