COVID-19 Guidelines, Requirements, and Protocols (Subject to Change)

Protocols will be implemented during the entire tournament; no exceptions. DO NOT REGISTER IF YOU ARE UNABLE OR UNWILLING TO COMPLY. If the tournament is cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns or by the order of USA Fencing, a full refund will be issued to all fencers, except for admin fees.

  • This tournament is subject to federal mandates, state laws and local orders regarding COVID-19, including the assembly of persons.

  • All competitors and spectators/coaches are required to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test prior to entering the venue. The negative COVID test must be obtained within 72 hours prior to start of event. Individuals who have completed a COVID vaccine series (Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca, Novavak, Sinovac, Sinopharm, Covaxin, or CoronaVac) 14 days prior to arrival at the venue will NOT need to obtain a negative PCR or antigen test result. We will accept all PCR or antigen test results as long as it is proctored with verification via email. All competitors and spectators/coaches who do not meet either of these requirements will NOT be allowed into the venue. We will be checking for them prior to the entrance.

  • All individuals will have their temperature checked prior to entering the venue. Anyone with a temperature above 100.4ºF will not be permitted to enter.

  • Every individual who enters the venue is required to wear an appropriate face covering at all times while inside the venue. Face coverings must completely cover the mouth and nose to properly prevent respiratory droplets from traveling into the air after leaving the wearer's orifices. Bandanas, single layer gaiters, masks with valves, and fencing mask inserts that do not make direct contact with the athlete's face are not permitted.

  • All events are capped, and entry is on a first-come first-served basis. Once the tournament has filled to the capped amount, a wait list will begin. When an athlete withdraws from the event the next person on the wait list will then have 48 hours to officially register for the event and pay event fees.

  • Hand sanitizers will be placed throughout the venue: check-in, strips, etc.

  • Fencers are advised to wash their uniforms each day as to arrive with a clean uniform.

  • Armorers have the right to decline to check equipment that is deemed unsanitary (this includes equipment that is visibly soiled, and/or gives off a foul odor).

  • Fencers must wear appropriate attire that their fencing uniform can be put on over in public areas. Changing completely in the venue, including restrooms is not permitted.

  • Fencers are not allowed to touch the scoring machine, weights, ships, remote or scoresheets.

  • Fencers must refrain from shaking hands after bouts or making any intentional physical contact.

  • Once a fencer is eliminated from their event, they must pack their equipment up and leave the venue immediately, unless they are in the top 8. Individuals may not stay and socialize, watch remaining bouts or to observe the medal ceremony.

  • Live tournament results and tournament progress will be posted on https://www.fencingtimelive.com/

Additional protocols will be created to help us run a smooth and safe tournament. We will keep this webpage updated.

Wrist bands must be worn be everyone in the venue, and must remain visible at all times. Security will check for wristband prior to entry into venue.

Equipment Check

Early equipment check is available on Friday, March 11th from 6pm - 8pm. We are only checking masks, gloves, and lames. We highly recommend you take advantage of this to avoid lines before the start of your event.
