This tournament is subject to Massachusetts state laws and orders regarding COVID-19, including assembly of persons. If any circumstances arise that would preclude safe running of this event, this tournament may be cancelled at any time. Should the tournament be cancelled, refund fees are subject to USA Fencing.

There will be no exceptions to COVID-19 safety protocols implemented throughout the tournament. If you cannot comply do not register for this tournament.

All events will be capped and entry is on a first-come first-served basis – no exceptions. Once the tournament has filled to the capped amount a wait list will begin. When an athlete withdraws from the event the next person on the wait list will then have 48 hours to officially register for the event and pay event fees. Direct any questions regarding capping to USA Fencing National Office. There will be no refunds for athletes who choose to withdraw after registration.

This RYC is being held over two weekends to safely comply with state guidelines. Events and cap numbers scheduled for this weekend are as follows:

Please note that competitors must be competitive members of USA Fencing before registering for event.

COVID-19 POLICIES/PROCEDURES

1. IF YOU ARE SICK, STAY HOME.

  1. DO NOT register if you are not from Region 3. Entry fees will not be refunded for those who register from another Region.
  2. A temperature check will be taken to ensure you may continue on into the venue. Sanitizing when you enter is also mandatory. If you present with a temperature or any other COVID-19 symptoms you must leave the venue immediately and there will be no refund.
  3. Everyone coming to the tournament MUST enter through the front entrance and submit the waiver form that can be obtained on the Boston Fencing Club website (https://160c19c8-0fe4-49fb-b220-50cc75da58ec.filesusr.com/ugd/d51235_f92c069916bc4711b67ea221e72f0fe8.pdf) or via email request (merritt55@comcast.net).
  4. Anyone other than an official or staff member entering through any back entrance will be black carded and removed from the building.
  5. Check in will open 1 hour prior to event. There will be no early check in allowed. Fencers must check in using the auto scanner. Have your current membership card printed for this purpose.
  6. Fencer or family members, competing at the same time, 17 and under may be accompanied by ONE person; multiple fencers competing at the same time does not mean an additional spectator. Fencers 18 and over may not bring an additional person. No additional family or other spectators will be allowed.
  7. Wash and sanitize all your fencing equipment before coming to event. Arrive at the venue dressed in your whites as dressing rooms will be closed and changing in the rest rooms WILL NOT be permitted.
  8. Proper fencing gear must be worn including long socks. Women’s foil fencers must wear padded chest protector. Chest protectors used by men must also be padded. Y10 fencers must use size 0 or 2 blades. This will be strictly enforced.
  9. Equipment check will be mask and glove only. Have them out of your bag and ready to be inspected. After equipment check has been completed for an event and there is no line, you may get other equipment checked by armorer if you wish.
  10. Everyone in the venue must wear a face mask that covers nose and mouth INCLUDING when actively competing BUT NOT eating and/or drinking. There is no exception; we cannot accommodate those with conditions that preclude wearing a mask, so if you are unable to wear a mask stay home.
  11. Only ONE coach per weapon per club is allowed. Please relay this information to your club so they can determine coaching schedule.
  12. No food or drink allowed on the fencing floor and none will be sold in the venue. You must bring your own food/drink and it must be eaten in the designated dining area. Fencers are allowed a personal water/sports drink container at the strip, but absolutely NO PLASTIC throwaways; i.e., Poland springs or other water; Gatorade, etc. Only a water bottle station will be open for refills.
  13. Hand sanitizer will be in place in the venue and available on all strips in use for the convenience of fencers and/or officials.
  14. Spectators must remain in designated seating areas. No spectators will be allowed on the floor. Only registered USFA coaches will be allowed on the floor with a fencer.
  15. In between pool bouts and DEs, fencers will sit or stand near the area of their assigned strip and the adjacent strip and be at least 4-6 ft apart wearing face mask.
  16. Refrain from shouting and/or screaming after scoring a touch.
  17. When you have finished fencing in your event, please gather up your belongings quickly and leave the building by the BACK DOOR near the finals strip. You may not stay and socialize. If you are in the top 8 and wish to leave before the medal ceremony we will give you your medal as you leave.
  18. Please check to make sure you have all your personal belongings as anything left at the end of the day will be thrown out!!!!!! NO EXCEPTIONS.

Event Fee Info

Entry Fees: Regular fees: up to October 16 PDT. Registration $24, Administration $5/event Event fee is $45/event

Late Fees: October 17 to October 23 PDT. Registration $84, Administration $15/event Event fee is $135/event.

No exceptions to late fees will be made for inability to register within stated deadlines.

There will be NO reminder emails sent to competitors with incomplete registrations; i.e, no payment. It is your responsibility to be aware of registration deadlines.

REFUND POLICY Unless this event is cancelled, registration fees will not be refunded. There are no exceptions. Prior to October 16, 100% of the event fee will be refunded if the organizer (merritt55@comcast.net) is contacted with a refund request. After October 16, there will be no refunds of the event fee. Refunds will be processed no later than 4-6 Weeks and most will be processed immediately.

No refunds will be issued for No Show or Withdrawal from events.

CANCELLATION POLICY: If the tournament is cancelled for reasons beyond our control (such as extreme weather or some other calamity that has not yet reared its head), event fees will be refunded.

NO WALKINS will be accepted at this tournament.
