Mid-South Fencers' Club is in proximity to the Historic BrightLeaf District of Downtown Durham, NC, adjacent to Duke University, and 9 miles from UNC-Chapel Hill. Our club is walking distance to a wide variety of restaurants, boutique shops, pubs, fine and casual dining, entertainment, and a new Marriott hotel. More information about Durham can be found by visitng http://www.durham-nc.com/.
Parking: Parking for the competition is available at the BrightLeaf Square pay lot located at the intersection of Main Street and Gregson Street. Parking is free on weekends. Street parking is available and we ask that fencers use the small parking lot in front of the fencing club for pickup and drop off only.
On behalf of the Mid-South fencers we would like to thank everyone for supporting this event. This tournament is held in honor of Ryder Darwin, a founding member of our club who tragically lost his life at the age of 21. He was a 3 time national medalist, a beloved friend, and drawn to fencing for the personal challenges offered to him by participation in our sport. This event began in 2014 as a way to honor his life and we are proud to offer the 2018 Ryder Cup as part of the Regional Cadet Junior Circuit and Regional Open Circuit.
